We are on our way to Germany!
Emery and I are currently sitting in the Dallas, Fort Worth airport waiting for our connecting flight to London, then on to Berlin.
We are so excited to be going to visit Brittney, Casey, Ellie, and Peyton (oh, and Harley too, of course). Our trip will be 10 days long, so we plan on seeing all the sights, playing with Brittney, Casey, and the girls, and even taking an overnight trip to Copenhagen.
So far we have successfully started our trip. Brian is house sitting for us (so now you know where they parties will be), so all will be safe there. We managed to get everything rearranged in suitcases at the airport so not one bag was over 50 lbs. That proved to be tricky when Katie couldn't decide what clothes not to bring and Casey had to have his Cap'n Crunch and Hebrew National hot dogs. :) Thankfully, Emery is a wiser packer than I and we made it work.
The memorable quotes for this trip actually started flowing last night when Emery astutely stated that, although she enjoys using travel time to prepare and learn about her destination, "Seventeen hours is a bit excessive for the length of a trip." Hm. Yes. A bit. Emery also pointed out this morning that the reason no one builds planes with beds in them is, "the same reason they build apartment buildings instead of one-man homes with ten acres." Huh?
Brittney emailed me today to let me know that Ellie is just as excited about our arrival as we are. She wrote, "Went to Subway for lunch today and Ellie INSISTED on buying an extra bag of chips that she kept saying were for Emery... haha. She also told her teachers at school today that "Aunt Kat" is on an airplane today, coming to see her. :) Needless to say, she is VERY excited that you guys are coming." We are so excited too, Ellie!
Stay tuned to this blog in the coming days if you would like to read about our European adventures!
