Sunday, Sunday, Sunday

Sunday we went to church with Brittney, Ellie, and Peyton. On game days here the players have to stay in a hotel, not with their families (a bit strange), so Casey was not with us. I liked attending church services for a few reasons:
1) It reemphasized what many people have said before that, "the church is the same everywhere." It's true!
2) I like hearing people speaking foreign languages, and church was all in German.
3) One of the sister missionaries here translated sacrament meeting for me. The talks were good - all about missionary work - and she did a good job translating.
4) Brittney teaches the teenage Sunday School class. She has two students who are British, so she is able to teach them. Her class usually turns into the English Sunday School class, though, since there are often English speaking visitors and all the other classes are in German. Today was no exception. There were two kids, a brother and sister, from New Mexico that joined us. I learned from them that the street lamps in Roswell are shaped to look like aliens with glowing eyes. The one thing that is difficult about Brittney's class is that they do not have a nursery for Ellie and Peyton, so Britt has to try to teach with them in the class. That can be pretty tough.

Sunday evening we attended Casey's game. I always enjoy watching Casey play. They won the game, but I wish the team would give him more opportunities. He made 8 points in four shots. Pretty great -- so why don't they let him shoot more?! We had fun watching, eating the team-provided meal, and meeting a few of the players, despite the fact that Britt's girls had a rough night. As I said, I love watching Casey play!
